Privacy Policy

Anonymous identifiers. The app generates a random identifier on first launch. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID, and we cannot use it to identify you personally.

Usage analytics. The app sends basic product events (for example: app opened, paywall viewed, subscription started) together with the anonymous identifier, device model, OS version, and app version to our own servers. We use this solely to understand how the app is used and to improve it.

Now-playing metadata. To fetch lyrics, the app sends the title, artist, and duration of the track you are currently playing to our servers. This metadata is not stored against your identifier.

Purchase status. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We and our subscription-management provider (Adapty) receive purchase receipts and subscription status — never your payment card details, which Apple does not share with anyone.

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, precise location, or advertising identifiers. The app contains no third-party advertising and no social media SDKs.

Apple Music.Playback information is read locally on your device through Apple’s system frameworks. Your Apple Music library is never uploaded.

Spotify.If you connect Spotify, authentication happens directly between your device and Spotify. The resulting access tokens are stored only in your device’s secure Keychain and are used to read your currently playing track and control playback. We never see or store your Spotify password, and tokens are not sent to our servers. You can disconnect at any time in Settings, and revoke access at spotify.com/account under “Apps”.

The app relies on the following processors:

• Apple — payment processing for subscriptions and app distribution.
• Adapty — subscription receipt validation and status management (privacy policy).
• Cloudflare — hosts our servers and lyrics API.
• Lyrics providers — track title and artist are forwarded to third-party lyrics databases (such as LRCLIB) to retrieve lyrics. No personal data is included in these requests.

Analytics events are retained in aggregate form. Because the data we hold is keyed only to a random identifier, deleting the app removes the link between you and that data. To request deletion of the data associated with your device, contact us at the address below and include the identifier shown in the app’s Settings if available.

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold, and to object to or restrict its processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

LyricsX is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “last updated” date.
